Nut Mountain’s history

Nut Mountain is a small unincorporated community in the Rural Municipality of Sasman No. 336, in east-central Saskatchewan. It takes its name from the large hill nearby, which is known as Nut Mountain.

The hill and several other landmarks in the area were named for the wild hazel nuts that grow abundantly across the surrounding countryside. The Assiniboine River has its headwaters near the Nut Hills.
